Operation WARCALLER
Arguably the worst part of the endless war is that it wasn't endless. It ended every fortnight or so while "The world changed". None of us understood it at the time but we would have a day where violence was unnecessary. We got food, shelter, sometimes there would be a nice pitter patter of rainfall and we could just relax for a day. Relaxation isn't real for those built for war however- it is just a day of anxiety. After all, won't many of these people around me die brutally tomorrow?
Another Break Day passes and we find ourselves back on the battlefield. I can't help but feel like maybe it's better to die early and come back next cycle, but my reflexes won't let me. An arrow whizzes past, blood spatters from my allies and enemies alike. I still push on, I still fight, I still kill. My mind screams in defiance, but my body will never listen. I was created just for this. Some cruel maker played god and here I am- a creation with only one purpose: War.
Even in the Break Day, so much time is spent preparing for more combat. When does it end?
